- Dimensional Mail – Dimensional mail are mail pieces that are not flat like normal, but have dimension such as boxes or tubes. They have a much higher response rate than traditional mail pieces. Switching from direct mail postcards to a dimensional piece is very costly so before considering this you need to know your budget constraints. The good part about dimensional mail is that even though each piece may cost more to produce, you will get more responses with this type of mail.
- Endless Folds – Create a fun and entertaining mail piece by taking a normal folded piece and creating a whole new look with endless folds. These go beyond visual stimulation by requiring recipients to touch and manipulate the piece. It creates a sense of curiosity on what they will find after each fold is turned. By endless fold we mean that customers or prospects open the first set of folds that leads them to the next set and the next and so on. Really fun to unfold.
- Video – Technology has created something you are going to love to add to your direct mail. Mailers with video screens! These mailers have an audiovisual player that is embedded within the mailers. The video content is played after opening the mailer or pushing a button. No need to rely on people scanning QR codes, using NFC or downloading augmented reality apps, when you have a built in video screen to provide immediate access. Have you seen one in action?
- Fun – Have you considered how to have some fun with your direct mail? It can lead to a better ROI. Consider trying out a scavenger hunt that is launched with the direct mail piece. You can have everyone start the same way or use variable data to start them off at different locations. You can use technology to integrate with cell phones or just do it the old fashioned way.
These are just some of the creative ways direct mail can be used. Get in front of your customers and get them excited about the direct mail you are sending them.
