The USPS plans to phase out the postnet barcode as of January 2013. At that time all mail qualifying for automation discount postage rates must bear an Intelligent Mail Barcode (IMB).
Eye/Comm already uses IMB barcodes on all mail.

The IMB will also be required for business reply mail. If your current business reply envelopes have a postnet barcode you will need to request new artwork from the post office with the IMB barcodes. You will need to use up all remaining reply envelope stock bearing the postnet barcode before January 2013.
Here are a few links that can help you:

USPS is also pushing to require electronic paperwork for all mailings starting in January 2014. This will mean that in order to get automation postage rates all documentation must be sent via a mail.dat file to the post office under the full service IMB. Not to worry though, Eye/Comm is already certified to do this for you.
